Our Admission Procedure and Commitment to Placement
Once a referral has been agreed, parents or persons holding parental responsibility are invited to contact the Base to arrange an initial visit.
At this meeting the work of the Base will be explained, any problem(s) of the referred pupil explored, possible attendance and type of attendance discussed, and expected commitment to a placement by all the parties concerned, outlined.
At this stage CEDARS also makes contact with other agencies which may be involved.
Up to this point the referral is still at the discussion and fact-finding stage. Despite pressures which may be present to proceed to a hasty admission, it is vitally important at this stage that all parties are happy with the proposals and time is always given after visit for those concerned to go away from CEDARS and discuss the proposals at home.
